FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSAZ) - Kentucky is facing a state revenue shortfall this year, that’s according to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

The governor today blaming federal tariffs for affecting spending and economic activity.

It’s important to note that the Federal Bureau of Economic Analysis said in the most recent quarter the gross domestic product rose nationally because of a decrease in imports and an increase in consumer spending.

However, there was a decrease in investment and exports.

Governor Beshear also said the income tax reduction in Kentucky has cut $359 million for the fiscal year.

That runs July 1 of this year through June 30 of next year.

That tax cut goes into effect in January of next year.
