ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque is making changes along Central Ave. to improve pedestrian safety. The city has added its first solar streetlight near Central Ave. and Eubank Blvd., and is planning several more between Louisiana Blvd. and Eubank Blvd.
They have also reduced traffic from six to four lanes, using that space to add business access and transit, or BAT lanes for buses and for vehicles making a right-hand turn. Early next year, the city will add two new hawk lights at Britt St. and Dorothy St., and they will reduce the speed limit along Central Ave. to 35 miles an hour.
