Innisfail RCMP has arrested a high-risk offender who was wanted on outstanding warrants for assault, resisting a police officer, mischief and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The offender, a 22-year-old Innisfail man, has failed to appear on his drug trafficking charge on three separate occasions.

On Aug. 25, Innisfail RCMP officers observed the offender walking in downtown Innisfail.

"The offender attempted to hide behind a vehicle to avoid detection by police. Police told the offender that he was under arrest for his outstanding warrants," RCMP stated in a media release on Thursday, Sept. 4.
