A blast of winter weather is coming for parts of Australia, bringing intense rain, thunderstorms and gale-force winds.
The low-pressure system will bring cold air, storms, rain and "blustery" winds across the west of WA today before moving further east tomorrow and into Sunday, according to Weather Zone.
A large storm cloud formation over the Indian Ocean was visible from space on Thursday, with the mass due to move over southwestern Australia today and tomorrow.
An estimated 10mm to 40mm is expected in the South West Land Division over the weekend.
The heaviest falls are expected on the coast between Geraldton and Esperance.
There is a chance of localised flooding, weather experts have warned.
