FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Great Plains’ Hunger Action Month gets some major support through two big donations.
North Dakota Farmers Union and Farmers Union Enterprises donated 35,000 pounds of ham from Redwood Farms in Iowa.
Later in the day, Hornbacher’s presented a check of over $46,000 from its annual Checkout Hunger campaign.
Combined with Hornbacher’s December Feed Hope campaign, the company has now donated over $2 million.
“If we can reduce barriers and increase access, people will get the food that they need to thrive. Unfortunately, one in five people across our service area are needing food assistance to get them through a tough spot. So we want to get that number down, we want to make sure everyone has what they need,” said Marcia Paulson, Chief Development Officer at Great Plains
