Wapakoneta addresses fake listings for public works building

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The city of Wapakoneta is speaking out after one of its buildings reportedly appeared as if it was on the market.

According to the city, the Public Works building on Harrison Street in Wapakoneta was recently appearing as a listing on the internet on "several websites."

In a statement, the city confirmed the listings showing its building are not legitimate.

"We have become aware of several websites that are incorrectly listing this property," said the city.

If you are actively looking for available properties, you are encouraged to take caution about using unfamiliar websites.

"We urge you to exercise caution when visiting unofficial sites and to always verify the legitimacy of any listing before providing payment or personal information," the city said.
