MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — JoCasta Zamarripa, a Milwaukee alderperson and former state representative, has announced her candidacy for Wisconsin Secretary of State.
Zamarripa aims to use the office's platform to address issues such as rising costs and school funding reform.
"I'm running for Secretary of State to be a strong voice for all Wisconsinites—from small towns to big cities," said Zamarripa. Her campaign emphasizes affordable child care, safe housing, and better funding for public schools.
Zamarripa hopes to become the first Latina to hold statewide office in Wisconsin.
“In a year where everything is on the line, we need candidates who reflect the full diversity and strength of our state,” said Zamarripa in a statement.
