CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) -- The City of Carencro has received five bids for the construction of a new $45 million wastewater treatment plant, with the lowest bid coming in at $42.7 million, and expects to break ground by the end of the year.
On Thursday, bids for the construction of Carencro's estimated $45 million wastewater treatment plant were revealed. The city expects to break ground by the end of the year.
Former Carencro Mayor Glenn Brasseaux initiated funding for the project. Brasseaux's administration secured a $2 million USDA grant and a voter-approved one percent sales tax.
For Carencro City administrators, the opening of bids for a new wastewater sewer plant reflects the city's growth.
