COLUMBUS, Ohio—As Ohio legislative leaders gear up for another round of congressional redistricting, legislative leaders are asking the public to submit their own proposals for how the state’s 15 U.S. House districts should be redrawn.

But state lawmakers are seeking public input because they’re required to by the Ohio Constitution. And if history is any guide, the officials in charge of redistricting will likely ignore whatever proposals are submitted when they pass their final map this fall.
