HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) - The North Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing its investigation regarding a body found on Interstate 40 last week.

On August 29 at 7:15 a.m., the Haywood County Sheriff's Office and NC Highway Patrol responded to a body found on the side of road on I-40. The body was found near Exit 31, off the shoulder in Canton.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old David Brown. Highway patrol said that it was noted that Brown had suffered a head injury.

The autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, but the report has not been released.
