PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Drivers who commute over the Washington Bridge regularly may have spotted a couple of new highway signs.

The digital signs, which are operated by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and are typically used to warn of road work or traffic delays, have been placed on both sides of I-195 before the bridge.

The signs read: "Thanks for your patience as we demo old bridge."

There's also another variation that reads: "Thanks for your patience as new bridge is built."

It's unclear exactly when the signs were installed along the highway, though it appears to have been earlier this week.
