The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Greek life is under fire again after a national fraternity organization sent a withdrawal letter to the campus's local chapter. This comes after two UTC students suffered severe burns last September while pledging for the Alpha Iota chapter of Kappa Sigma. It was investigated as hazing; however, no criminal charges were ever filed.
Now, the national organization, Kappa Sigma, wants to withdraw the UTC chapter. It's been under an interim suspension for nearly a year following the hazing incident. Some students Local 3 spoke with on campus have mixed feelings about the letter.
