Chattanooga Prep is in the win column for the first time in 2025 after topping Hixson 33-26 on Thursday night at Reggie White Field.
Marquis Gardner was a workhorse for the Sentinels, scoring four of his team's five touchdowns.
After Gardner and Wildcats star Ryan Burney traded touchdowns all night long, Hixson had a chance to tie the game late. However, Cedric Bauldin intercepted a Jake Pollock pass to seal the win for Chatt Prep.
"It feels good, it feels great," Gardner said.
"[It was a] good team win. Everybody did what they had to do, everybody did their roles. We got the win, that's all we need."
The Sentinels will head to Milan next Saturday to face the reigning 2A runners-up, while Hixson will be back at home on Friday to welcome in Loudon.
