DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Duke Basketball and the Boys and Girls Club of Durham and Orange Counties teamed up Thursday to help deal with the trials and tribulations of bullying, anxiety and much more.

Kimyrea Lumpkin is one of dozens of students who have gone through bullying. “Kids, they don’t like to share what they’re going through, they don’t like to share their thoughts about harming themselves," said the grader Kimyrea Lumpkin.

She is an 8th grader and a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Durham and Orange Counties. She says dark thoughts can go beyond peer pressure for teens.

“I’ve seen it a lot of times, kids thinking bad things about themselves, tearing themselves down," said Lumpkin.

The leaders here at the Boys and Girls Club took note.
