Parents of pupils from a primary school near Blair Drummond Safari Park on the A84 have questioned if a “child needs to die” before measures are taken to improve safety on the route.
The section of the A84 that runs past the popular tourist spot has long been known as an accident blackspot, with five accidents reported in less than a month this summer.
Now, exasperated parents and pupils from Kincardine in Menteith Primary , which has a roll of 37 pupils, are calling on Transport Scotland to urgently make the stretch of the A84 that passes their school safer.
This week they gathered to implore the transport body to “act now” in a desperate attempt to protect the children.
