HAMPTON – The goal for the Winnacunnet High School girls soccer team this early in the season is simple – get better with every practice and every game and the results will take care of themselves.
So far, the Warriors, who lost to Pinkerton Academy in last year’s Division I state championship game, are following the plan.
Junior Isla Christie, on an assist from senior Taylor Burness, scored in the 31 st minute and the Warriors held on from there with a 1-0 win over Londonderry on Thursday, Sept. 4.
Winnacunnet improved to 2-0-1 on the season, while Londonderry is 1-2.
“There’s always room for improvement,” said Winnacunnet head coach Nick O’Brien, now in his ninth year at the helm. “Every game we’re looking to get a little bit better, and of course, in a 16-game season in Division I
