ALBANY — State officials are offering safety tips for students and drivers as the new school year begins.
“The start of a new school year is an exciting time, but it is also the time to remind drivers and pedestrians alike to share the road responsibly,” said Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder of the state Department of Motor Vehicles in a news release. “Drivers should always watch for children walking or riding bicycles to and from school and be prepared to stop for school buses. We urge parents to make sure their children know how to safely get on and off the bus.”
