FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Central California healthcare workers are preparing for another busy respiratory virus season as fall approaches.

Doctors at the Modern Medicine Group in northeast Fresno say they're especially concerned about COVID-19, influenza and RSV as kids return to school and germs spread more easily.

"Especially since September is now here, October, November, a lot of the kids are back to school, so a lot of pathogens and germs are being passed around and those germs are coming home," said Dr. Harman Virk, an internal medicine physician and medical director at the Modern Medicine Group.

The clinic treats many patients over 60 and is closely monitoring those at higher risk for severe illness.
