NEW ALBANY, Ind. — New Albany businessman, Henry Bachmann was arrested this week and charged in connection to a murder-for-hire plot.

Authorities raided Bachmann’s two businesses North Star Tattoo on Vincennes Street and Cloverleaf Bar and Grill on Culbertson Avenue on Wednesday. An unidentified residence was also searched.

Seeing the news of his neighbor Thursday, Floyd Freels was 'very surprised'.

"He seemed like a real nice guy," Freels said. "[Bachmann] would always walk by and go to the little store and get drinks, and wave and come in and just talk."

Freels owns the Tiny Skate Shop at the corner of Vincennes Street and Charlestown Road. He and Bachmann's tattoo shop are separated by only one house. Freels said Bachmann would do things to support his business like buying from him,
