More news has surfaced about the events surrounding Kawhi Leonard’s $28 million endorsement deal with a fraudulent company. Journalist Pablo Torre has publicly called out the Los Angeles-based company, Aspirations Inc., for its shady business dealings.

Fresh from his championship run with the Toronto Raptors, the Lakers were expected to sign Leonard in 2019 before he pivoted to the Clippers. Fans were initially amused by his decision to shun the Lakers, a primetime destination for free agents. Since the six-time all-star is a Los Angeles native, people did not suspect any wrongdoing at that time.
