Aldi 'properly sorry' as supermarket issues apology
Aldi has issued an update about Lidl as it said "all good things must come to an end". The message, shared across Aldi's social media platforms, comes after budget supermarket Lidl was named Which's cheapest supermarket for the month of July.
Before this, Aldi had held the title for an impressive 20 consecutive months, and for August 2025, Aldi has reclaimed the top spot. In social media posts shared on Thursday, 4 September, Aldi offered a tongue-in-cheek apology. The supermarket said: "Apparently we've got some apologising to do.
