NEW BEDFORD — From Sept. 7 to 14, a number of ramp, lane and street closures will be in effect in New Bedford "as needed," as workers prepare for the start of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's I-195/ Route 18 Interchange Rehabilitation Project .

"Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution," MassDOT's release reads. "All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice."

The project's goals, as described on mass.gov, are to "address poor conditions on the aged structure, improve safety and mobility, and construct a noise barrier for community benefit."
