Exact date 600-mile downpour set to engulf UK with 'heavy rain' expected everywhere

Following on from a week of weather warnings in the south west, the UK looks set to face more heavy downpours, according to weather maps.

Rain is expected to creep in next Saturday, September 13, according to GFS weather model maps, drenching regions across the country, with the rainfall expected to span roughly 600 miles.

Met Office predictions also suggest that the west of England could be one the wettest in the country.

The forecaster warned low pressure systems are expected to dominate the second week of September, bringing showers, longer spells of rain, and the potential for thunderstorms, hail and strong winds.
