COVINGTON TWP., Pa. (WENY) -- Pennsylvania State Police say a 24-year-old Mainesburg man was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Tioga County in the evening of Tuesday, September 2nd.

According to the PSP in Mansfield, Derek T. Dreps was driving east on East Hill Road around 5:15 p.m. when he attempted to pass a vehicle. Investigators say Dreps lost control while trying to reenter the lane during a left curve.

Troopers report the motorcycle left the roadway, went airborne, and struck a tree before coming to rest in a creek. Dreps was found in the creek near the bike and was transported by ambulance to Williamsport Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

State Police say Dreps was cited for driving at a safe speed.
