A new high school football season is upon us.

And every year it brings change of some sort.

So to prepare you for the 2025 season, which actually kicked off on Thursday night with Washougal vs. Mountain View, here are five things you should be aware of heading into the season.

Late scheduling changes

Back in July, The Columbian published a series of videos on social media announcing each local teams’ 2025 football schedules. And as always, we noted them with “subject to change.”

The biggest schedule upheaval came from Columbia-White Salmon’s decision to play an independent schedule instead of its traditional Trico League schedule.

This left several Trico teams with holes in the schedules.
