One dead after car crashed into building in Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A man was pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicle crash on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard early Friday morning.

The Blair County Coroner's office was called to the scene of a crash at 1:47 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, after the Altoona Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident into a structure. The fire department noted that there was heavy entrapment reported.

Michael Mortimer, 35, died of blunt force injuries suffered in the crash. The cause is still under investigation by the Altoona Police Department.
