GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. — The heist of Judy Garland's "Wizard of Oz" ruby slippers from a Minnesota museum in 2005 was a team effort and the thieves were pulled over by oblivious law enforcement shortly after the theft, according to a new ABC documentary.

The information, provided by a North Dakota federal prosecutor on the case, adds new details and appears to contradict a key court filing, a confession, from the man who pleaded guilty to the theft of the shoes.

"One of the reasons I want to talk to you today is so that there is a corrected version of what happened in the public record," Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Greenley told the filmmakers, in the documentary.
