Update: A second person now faces charges in connection to the assault investigation on August 30.

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Deputies from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check on the 7000 block of Noble Road on August 30. The sheriff's office said they found a man, covered in blood, walking down the road and appeared to have been assaulted.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The sheriff's office said the victim had met with Corban Koster, 18, of Paducah.

Koster is accused of beating the victim with a ratchet, according to authorities. The sheriff's office also said Koster stole the victim's belongings and forced him into the trunk of his vehicle before leaving him on Noble Road.
