SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - An Agawam man has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for a deadly shooting in Springfield in August of 2023.

The Hampden County District Attorney's Office states that the investigation began on August 10, 2023, when officers were called to the 500 block of East Columbus Avenue in Springfield for reports of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, police found 25-year-old Gary White of Springfield with gunshot wounds. White was brought to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died.

The Springfield Police Homicide Unit launched an investigation, and detectives recovered surveillance video showing 27-year-old Jared Dewberry of Agawam and White arriving together in the same vehicle. The footage portrays Dewberry removing White from the backseat of the vehicle bef
