JALEN Carter could be hit with an NFL suspension over spitting at Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott.

The Eagles ' defensive lineman was ejected for the act, and a referee released a statement over the situation.

Just six seconds into the NFL season opener, Carter was ejected from the game after spitting in the direction of Prescott .

The incident took place during a dead ball when the Cowboys were lining up for their first offensive drive.

Footage displayed on NBC 's broadcast later in the game appeared to show that Prescott sparked Carter's reaction by spitting in his direction first.

Prescott explained that he needed to spit and didn't want to hit his own teammates, and it went to Carter's direction.
