ALDI customers around the country are saying goodbye to a major store feature, according to Axios .
Some shoppers have taken to Reddit to report that their local ALDI stores have gotten rid of the self checkout service.
“It’s been about two weeks since I went to my local Aldi,” one Reddit user posted . “Since then, the self checkouts have all been removed.”
Another Reddit user posted that an employee said “some days they lost up to $7k in inventory” stolen through self checkout.
ALDI did not immediately respond to MassLive for confirmation on the removal of the service Friday.
Axios reported that ALDI did not comment on the change and that it does not appear to be a fixed decision across the country.
