A jury in 2018 found Haile Selassie Long guilty of five counts of dealing in cocaine and single counts of dealing in a controlled substance, dealing in marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.

Long was later sentenced to 26 years and six months in prison by then-Judge Kimberly Dowling.

Judge Doug Mawhorr recently granted a request for post-conviction relief, allowing Long to serve the remainder of his executed sentence — 2,116 days — on electronic home detention.

Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman said he did "not comprehend nor support the notion of letting... drug dealers modify out of prison simply because they have done 'well' while in prison."
