PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles’ new season was six seconds old and it had already gone to spit.

Ten minutes earlier, the sellout crowd at the Linc was wildly celebrating the unfurling of the giant Super Bowl LIX world champion banner as owner Jeffrey Lurie and recently retired legend Brandon Graham walked out with the two Lombardis the team has won since 2018.

Rob Mcelhenney , the irreverent star of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” introduced the 2025 team and, at that point, it seemed like it was going to be the kind of ” good, good night " that the Black Eyed Peas sing about.

The Eagles even won the toss when the Cowboys called tails and the coin came up heads.

And then, after deferring their choice to the second half, the Eagles kicked off and all hell broke loose.
