Every four years, soccer fans around the world circle one event on their calendars: the FIFA World Cup .

And in 2026, the tournament will be bigger than ever, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and 16 host cities across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada — including games at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey .

Now, the wait for tickets is officially over. FIFA just announced that the first phase of World Cup 2026 ticket sales opens on Tuesday, September 10, 2025 — but with one big catch.

Visa cardholders are going to be the first to enter their names into the ticket lotter y as part of a new partnership with FIFA.

“The countdown to FIFA World Cup 26 starts now, and lucky Visa cardholders get the first shot,” said Frank Cooper III, Chief Marketing Officer at Visa.
