CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has announced his readiness to take legal action to prevent National Guard troops from entering Chicago amid expected ICE raids this weekend.

The anticipated raids have led to the indefinite postponement of Chicago's Mexican Independence Day Festival, originally scheduled to begin in eight days at Grant Park, due to concerns it might be targeted.

"Part of their kind of nefarious plan is begin with ICE, cause mayhem on the ground and by doing that say that there's a need for military troops on the ground to protect ICE," Pritzker said.
