BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Firefighters with the Kern County Fire Department extinguished a fire at a scrapyard in the Lost Hills area Wednesday.

The report of a grass fire in the area of Highway 33 and Twisselman Road came in at about 2:40 p.m. Units noticed a large column of smoke after leaving the fire station.

Upon firefighter arrival, a half acre fire at a scrapyard was found. There were multiple cars, trailers and pallets on fire, according to the fire department.

The fire was under control in about three hours.

No injuries were reported.
