BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man has pleaded no contest to murder in connection to a stabbing last year in which the victim, dying from a wound to the neck, identified his attacker to police.

Jeremy Roberts, 39, entered the no contest plea on Friday. He faces 25 years to life at his sentencing next month.

At about 2:20 a.m. on April 30, 2024, police were called to the area of Tulare and Butte streets to a report of a stabbing.

An officer found Terrance DeVaul Clark Jr., 55, kneeling in a parking lot with a hand pressed to his neck, according to court documents. Blood covered his neck and the ground.

The officer applied pressure to the wound while questioning Clark, documents said.

He told the officer his attacker's first name and provided a description and the area where he lived.
