According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to Scripps Mercy Hospital around 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing victim. The adult male victim told officers he had been attacked in the 1200 block of 6th Avenue, located in the Core-Columbia neighborhood.
Police say the victim witnessed a man arguing with and pushing a woman. When he attempted to step in, the male suspect turned on him and stabbed him multiple times.
The suspect fled the scene, and the victim’s friends rushed him to the hospital.
