Baltimore County Council’s proposed redistricting map is facing more criticism Friday morning.
Community members and advocates will gathered in front of the Baltimore County Courthouse in Towson to demand transparency and accountability in the map-drawing process.
There is concern that under the Baltimore County Council’s normal process, its new proposed redistricting map would not be made available to the public until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.
That is only six hours before the scheduled public hearing, and it would leave no opportunity for residents to review, understand, or respond to the map before the hearing.
