Locals joined baseball fans across the country to watch as a Uintah Ute stood on the mound and got his first Major League strikeout last night. Jayden Murray is a member of the Uintah High School Class of 2015 who was called up to pitch last night for the Houston Astros in their game against the New York Yankees. Uintah High Athletics helped spread the word to those who didn’t see it live, sharing that Murray struck out Yankees’ Jose Caballero with a four-seam fastball that clocked in at 96 mph. “Murray faced four batters in 1 1/3 innings of work in his Major League debut, going three up, three down in the ninth.” Congratulations to Jayden Murray on a successful debut. The entire community looks forward to watching your future success!
