(Gray News) – A recall has been issued for more than 60,000 cordless grease guns and grease hoses.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission , the flexible grease gun hose can develop a hole, which could allow grease to be ejected while using the tool, posing a laceration hazard.

So far, there have been five injuries reported worldwide, but none in the United States.

The tools were sold at hardware stores and online between June 2020 and January 2025.

This recall involves Makita Professional Cordless Grease Guns with model numbers XPG01S1, XPG01SR1 and XPG01Z, and Makita Grease Gun Hoses with model numbers 191A79-9, 191A80-4, 191W59-7 and 191W58-9.

Anyone with any of the recalled models should stop using it and contact Makita for a free replacement.
