STATEMENT FROM THE CITY OF MERIDIAN:

On the evening of September 3, 2025 officers with the Meridian Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white Nissan Altima for an equipment violation. The stop was made in the area of N. Frontage Rd in Meridian Mississippi.

During the course of the investigation officers discovered marijuana along with a baggie of powder, consistent with crushed ecstasy. In addition, officers located in confiscated three firearms.

As a result of the stop Kedric Steele age 22 of Meridian was taken into custody and charged with:

Possession of a controlled substance with a firearm enhancement(x2)

Possession of a stolen firearm.

There was also a passenger a 17 year-old juvenile who was taken into custody for curfew, violation, and possession of a firearm. The
