WEST SPRINGFIELD ― A well-being check led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of crack cocaine, fentanyl and a loaded handgun, West Springfield police said in a statement on Friday.
Shawn Gregory Rainey, 48, of Victory, Vermont, and Pedro Jose Ledee, 51, of Hartford, Connecticut, were charged with trafficking large amounts of crack cocaine and fentanyl. They also face charges for having a gun and ammunition without a license and for not storing a firearm properly.
On Sept. 3 around 6:40 p.m., police officers went to a business parking lot at 1268 Riverdale St. after getting a report that two people were unconscious in a car, police said.
