CHICAGO — A Chicago woman accused of shooting another woman in the stomach during an argument at a South Side home is now facing felony charges.

Jelavonni Gage, a 26-year-old Chicago resident who lives in the area where the shooting occurred, has been charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and one felony count of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon.

Authorities say the charges against Gage stem from her alleged involvement in a shooting that unfolded inside the South Side home early Tuesday morning.

According to Chicago police, the shooting unfolded just before 7:30 a.m. at the home located in the 8100 block of South Maryland Avenue in Chatham.
