CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago police have responded to the Rolex Boutique store on Chicago's Magnificent Mile on Friday afternoon following reports of a burglary and gunfire.

Chicago police officers have blocked off portions of the 700 block of N. Michigan Ave. as they investigate the theft incident at the Rolex store.

Details remain limited, but WGN-TV cameras rolled as CPD officers canvassed the scene. Heavy damage to the business's glass windows was visible. Initial reports indicate multiple shots were fired, according to scanner radio.

It is currently unknown whether bullets struck anyone.

Police activity observed by SkyCam9 in the area of 71st and Halsted. The scene may be connected to the alleged theft, but those details have not yet been confirmed.
