University of Texas Permian Basin is undergoing some major construction projects including the Mesa Building, its front entrance, expansion of the walking trails and the quad.

The renovation project includes renovating all four floors of the Mesa Building, the quad, the entrance coming from Nimitz Middle School, which will become the main entrance, and the Wildcatter’s Trail. The project has been going on for about a year and a half and it will take another two years before it’s all complete.

President Sandra Woodley said the project will take several years to complete. The university has $6.5 million to expand the walking trail as part of the Wildcatter’s Trail that will eventually span 19 miles connecting Odessa and Midland.
