Perth County paramedics will soon be doing their part to fight isolation among the county’s senior population.

At the county’s Thursday morning meeting, Mike Adair, the county’s chief of paramedic services, told councillors the department had received a $30,000 grant from Healthcare Excellence Canada to implement a social prescribing program.

This program, which will be supported by Medavie Health Services in collaboration with Huron Perth public health, helps connect individuals to non-clinical services and programs that support their overall health and well-being.

Healthcare Excellence Canada, a non-profit funded by Health Canada, will also provide training and support collaborations with other programs across Perth County.
