MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police Department is searching for a missing girl Friday, who was last seen Aug. 25.

Cherish Golden Smith, 13, was last seen by her mother, according to a statewide alert.

Authorities said she was expected to return to her mother’s home, in the 1100 block of Morraine View Drive, on Sept. 2. She has not returned home, police said.

The alert said it is unknown what she was last wearing.

MPD said Golden-Smith was at an unknown address in Sun Prairie last weekend, and uses the Madison Metro bus system frequently to travel.
