On Friday at 11:33 a.m. the National Weather Service reported an air quality alert in effect until Saturday at 5 a.m. for Lane County Cascade Foothills and Cascades of Lane County.

"The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency has issued an Air Quality Advisory for eastern Lane County, which is in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke remains in effect. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at times through 8 p.m. Sunday. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems.
