Coronation Street fans have been quick to comment as a part of Carla Connor's past was remembered for the 'first time' in seven years.

Fans of the ITV soap will recall that the character, played by fan-favourite Alison King, was introduced as the wife of Paul Connor, who had bought Danny Baldwin's majority share of Underworld, back in 2008

She gatecrashed the staff's Christmas party carrying a bottle of wine in each hand after walking out of a different party. And the rest, as they say, is history, with Carla the centre of a number of huge Weatherfield storylines over the years.

More recently, it has been her battle with sepsis, resulting in another kidney transplant, which sparked the return of her murderer brother, as well as her blossoming relationship with Lisa Swain.
